Sophisticated – What I Feel II

The up and coming wordsmith, D.C.’s own, Sophisticated, returns to the scene today, giving us something new to feast our ears upon. The lyricist drops off his latest offering, “What I Feel II”.

The track is a menacingly smooth, laid back cut driven by some incredibly addictive melodies, which gets paired with some fitting, equally as smooth drums, making a nice home for the rising star to do his thing. Sophisticated doesn’t disappoint either, floating upon the instrumental like a seasoned vet, showing us his unique way of doing things. Check out the new track after the jump and let us know what you think down below.

Maloon TheBoom – Not About The Money (Album)

“It’s about being deeply fulfilled by all that you do. It’s about earning a living by doing what satisfies you. It’s about the love for music. It’s about the love for people.”

Rejjie Snow – Nights Over Georgia

Rising Irish MC Rejjie Snow has seen himself be compared to countless artists during his 2013 rise. But after hearing a wide array of output, I think it is safe to say Snow has successfully carved a lane of his own. But he hasn’t done so without channeling a handful of hip-hop luminaries. Like DOOM, which he seems to have tastefully borrowed from on “Nights Over Georgia”, as he raps with a similar cadence and delivery. And the production is absolutely stunning, as Snow samples some sentimental nostalgia from old jazz records.

Disclosure – Voices f. Sasha Keable

I’m not entirely sure what’s happening in Disclosure‘s new video for “Voices” featuring Sasha Keable, but fuck it.

The GTW – Bleach Pool

Originally premiering on a Kitty Cash mixtape, “Bleach Pool” is a song we are only getting around to now. Produced and written by James King of the GTW, the melodic track is a fantastic extension of what we have already heard from the unit thus far. I feel like I gush over every track coming out of the GTW’s studio right now, but every track seems to be just a little bit more catchy than the next. “Bleach Pool” is no exception.

Knxwledge – blowmymnd[TWRK]_ x WrapTaypes.Prt6.6_[bootleg] (Album)

With only two days to spare, the very active producer adds at least one more project to his impressive 2013 catalog by quietly placing "WrapTaypes.Prt6.6_[bootleg]" on bandcamp. The formula still remains the same, Knx. laces his favorite freestyle accapelas and reworks his favorite rap tunes.

Genesis Elijah – Dear Kanye (Prod. The Audible Doctor)

Peep the video for the new Audible Doctor produced track from Genesis Elijah “Dear Kanye”
“Wasn’t even sure about putting this out but here it is. I know Kanye will never hear it but in away it’s relevant to a lot of artist with a voice or in any the public eye. Most of us have good intensions but sometimes the words we choose or the actions we take to make those positive changes betray us. Sometime we don’t need to be torn down. Sometimes we just need a bit of brotherly advice…” – Genesis

K.Raydio & Psymun - Lucid Dreaming Skylines (Album)

After a year-long process, eclectic producer Psymun and singer/songwriter K.Raydio release their new album, "LucidDreamingSkylines".
Anchored in unadorned beats and eerie samples, the instrumentation flickers and flows and flips on itself, a perfect foil to K.Raydio's fluid melodies. Though often sultry and confident, as in the standout track "Flight," K.Raydio doesn't shy away from her dark side. On "Lobby Music" she sings of the temptation to fall back into a bad relationship, all atop a hypnotic looping chant. The song also features a tongue-twisting verse from Minneapolis rapper, Greg Grease. "Glass Houses" begins as a story of rejection before swirling into a bright daydream. And K.Raydio sounds both sorrowful and incendiary on "Sirens," a song that comments on youth violence and racial profiling.

GemStones - Break Every Chain f. Tasha Cobbs
