This is a lovingly and expertly constructed journey through the building blocks of Dilla’s beats – the dusty OG vinyl grooves that he sampled. It's a cleverly executed performance piece that echoes the simplicity and depth of the song, without ever losing pace or the viewers attention.

In the Akira Films directed video - rich hues, complimentary lighting, metaphorical props and a healthy variety of interesting camera angles were used to aid DEE GOODZ in expressing how we shouldn't let life slip by, whether confronted by adversity, or being lulled into inactivity by the sometimes mundane and cyclical nature of life's everyday grind.

Ivan Ives - Higher f. Aaron Marsh

Russian born/bred L.A. resident Ivan Ives presents the self-directed music video for “Higher”, the Aaron Marsh-produced new single from his new album Stranger. Ivan Ives originally stepped into the hip hop world in 2007. Rolling Stone named him among the next 40 artists to watch; SPIN called him one of 8 top unsigned artists; and XXL said “don’t let his indie rocker persona fool you – this guy can spit.” He’s worked with the likes of Cappadonna (Wu-Tang), Tre Hardson (Pharcyde), Percee P & Oh No (Stones Throw), The Cool Kids, Black Milk, O.C. (DITC), Vast Aire (Def Jux), Ceschi (Fake Four Inc), and many more. Having gone to film school, he directs most of his own videos – which have racked up over a million streams on YouTube without major distribution. “Aaron and I wrote the song at his studio in Lakeland, Florida,” says Ivan. “It’s a pretty weird song with alternating off-kilter time signatures, so it was really fun to work on. I wanted the video to reflect the uniqueness of the song, and so we tell a disjointed story about an astronaut lost in space or his own mind.” Click here to view the music video for “8mm” produced by RJD2.

College radio has given rave reviews to each remix. In September they kicked off their single releases with a remix video of The King of Pop Michael Jackson’s “Rock With You” which itself followed a string of incredibly well produced tracks produced by Sean.
The project will feature remixed songs for Michael Jackson, J Dilla, Jill Scott, Pete Rock, Nas, and many others. The “Still D.R.E.” ft. Snoop Dogg remix has an interesting and hypnotic blend of traditional East and West coast Hip Hop elements. It comes on strongly with a hard hitting boom bap beat, a deep bass line, synth licks, and strong piano chords.
