Charles Bradley - Victim of Love (Album)

Bradley keeps the soul moving with this short and sweet LP that ticks in at just eleven tracks. Filled with songs of love and heartbreak, this project is supported by top-notch production that brings us back to the days when blues and soul were in the mainstream. "Victim Of Love" drops April 2 via Daptone Records.

Western Tink & Beautiful Lou - Mobbin' No Sobbin' (Mixtape)

Mobbin No Sobbin as a motto, a philosophy, sounds like something you'd see scrawled in basic graffiti on an underpass. Possibly next to a tag that reads "Fuck you". It's a mantra you think about for awhile, but never able to discern the meaning, you could forget it quickly. This would be a mistake.
Mobbin No Sobbin, the album, is Beautiful Lou and Western Tink emerging from an oppressively dark place, destroying struggle. Beautiful Lou's production creates a smog of an atmosphere. Dark and depressive; beats that mine the gloom of John Carpenter soundtracks, screw tapes, and old horror movies. Shit is gloomy, but you could still ride to it, if you wanted to make your car an ice cream truck for doom and bass. The party song on the album "This Is How I'm Livin" sounds like music The Terminator bumps, as he busts a Dougie post termination.
Tink's lyrics work in opposition to the darkness of the beats. Dude has a flow that reminds of Houston legends and west coast masters. While Lou creates beats that alternately sound like trap funeral dirges and slap for goblins, Tink refuses to succumb to depressiveness. Dude is serious about triumph in the most real way. Chillin on a weekend without shit going wrong, finding a a bad broad he can actually trust, accomplishing shit. Not committing suicide. Real shit.
Mobbin No Sobbin works because of the schism, because you can hear Lou and Tink giving the middle finger to the idea of succumbing to circumstance. There's no wallowing in depression here. The album is dark as fuck, but there's a light at the center of it. Together dudes are shitting on anything in life standing in their way. This is where Mobbin No Sobbin makes sense as a philosophy, the power of your crew to get you through the shitty times. Tink and Lou, luminary lean philosophers.

Praverb -The Social Network f. Dj Grazzhoppa (Prod. SoulChef)

"The Social Network" is a creative track that was inspired by the creative genius of GZA.
GZA cleverness definitely inspires me. "Fame", "Animals", "Labels", and "Publicity" are creative concepts that expanded my mind beyond rhyming about my emcee skills, being saved, etc.
I decided to attack the concept of building a song that includes various Social Networks. I did some research and compiled a list of Social Network sites and went to the work.
I sat on the beat for awhile before coming up with the concept and I am thankful for having the opportunity to finally complete a track with @SoulChefMusic. The homie @Dj-Grazzhoppa blew me away with the scratches that he provided for the track.
If you like this song please share it with your family, friends, foes, etc.
Thank You, Patrick

Stevie Crooks – Le Champagne (Prod. Zeniro)

“Le Champagne” is a vivid narration through the eyes of a very conscience Stevie Crooks, being observant to what occurs inside the scene with gold diggers and the men who feed their thirst every night. The first verse explains what the girl sees as an opening or chance to feed her appetite for vanity. Feeling as though he’s out of place, he wants to leave but as the song continues and the beat rises, Crooks feels compelled to join the crowd and dance along. As the second verse starts, you realize Crooks is sitting down observing beautiful women lower their values for a shot to be chosen in the litter of busy bodies for VIP and a shopping spree the next morning. Aware of this he sits solo as others around him take advantage but instead of pouring his bottle on a girl he drinks the bottle alone.
